Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park celebrated the Chinese New Year by supporting Bournemouth’s Lanterns Festival. Crowds gathered to watch traditional dancing by the Dragon of the South team and a Tai Chi demonstration by Paul Lockyer and his students from Natural Healing.
Free fortune cookies were handed to shoppers by Anthony Yuen from Wonderful Kitchen & Lounge with fellow Charminster Traders Association who launched their new CTA Map.
John Parker, Deputy Centre Manager at Castlepoint said that for first time since the shopping park opened in 2003, their will be 19 Chinese lanterns adorning the malls. The lanterns will remain in place to promote the variety of restaurants and businesses on offer in Charminster.
“We were delighted to support the lantern festival and celebrate the coming of the year of the Tiger,” said John Parker.
