Castlepoint, the UK’s largest shopping park located on the outskirts of Bournemouth, can again claim full occupancy of retail units. Over the last 12 months 2 of the 38 retailers (Principles and Barratts) were forced to close on the 41 acre site. In October the Game Store opened in one of the empty units on the East Mall and now Peter Matthews, Castlepoint’s General Manager has had the opportunity to welcome Ruth Little, Manager of outdoor clothing retailer Mountain Warehouse and her team to the last available unit.
“We are delighted to claim a full house again with the introduction of the Mountain Warehouse store,” said Peter Matthews. “It was frustrating to see the units standing empty when we are still attracting over 900,000 people to the park every month.”
As the new stores attract more shoppers to Castlepoint the fundraising will continue in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. During the week commencing Saturday 19 December the Air Ambulance team repeating the successful You Park - They Fly appeal. Last year over £4000 was raised from drivers who showed their appreciation of the free car parking at the shopping park by making a donation. The money raised was enough to fund a day of saving missions flown by the dedicated air ambulance crews.
