What is thought by Management at Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park to have been the most valuable vehicle to have ever parked was admired by shoppers. Staff from the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu drove the 1930 Bentley 4.5 litre supercharged sports car to the park to promote the museum and the new World of Top Gear exhibition to shoppers. When the Bentley “Blower” was new it cost the first owner £1750. The car is now insured for £2 million.
Sarah Ryan, Business and Marketing Manager at Castlepoint, said that she believes the Bentley to be the most valuable cars ever to be seen among the 95,000 vehicles that take advantage of the free parking each week.
“It is also one of the oldest to visit us,” said Sarah. “Certainly our number plate recognition cameras have not spotted anything older to date. If anyone wants to exhibit anything more expensive we would be delighted to hear from them!”
